Code of Conduct
AI Safety Week brings together people from different disciplines, institutions and perspectives. Participation requires respectful, good-faith engagement with other attendees, speakers, staff and venue teams.
Expected conduct
- Respect. Treat participants with respect, including when you disagree.
- Inclusion. Do not harass, intimidate or discriminate against another participant.
- Good-faith debate. Address ideas and arguments rather than attacking the person presenting them. Make room for questions across different levels of expertise.
- Privacy. Respect stated boundaries around attribution, photography, recording and the sharing of personal information.
- Event rules. Follow the access, confidentiality, venue and safety instructions for the session you are attending.
Photography and recording
Do not photograph or record a speaker, participant or session without permission unless the event page clearly states that recording or photography is permitted. Some public events may have official photography, recording or streaming. Where this applies, organizers will identify it for participants.
Chatham House Rule
When a session is held under Chatham House Rule, participants may use the information they receive, but may not reveal the identity or affiliation of the person who shared it without permission. The event page and facilitator will identify when the rule applies.
Raising a concern
If you experience or witness behaviour that may violate this code, contact an AI Safety Week team member or use the Contact page and select General. For an immediate safety issue at a venue, follow venue security instructions or contact emergency services.
How AISF may respond
AISF may take steps appropriate to the situation, including giving a warning, asking someone to leave a session or venue, limiting future event access, or referring a matter to venue security or other appropriate authorities.
