What is AI Safety Week?

AI Safety Week brings together people working across AI safety research, technical practice, governance, policy, journalism, funding, industry and civil society. Across talks, workshops, demonstrations and working sessions, participants can see current work, test ideas, work through practical questions and connect with people whose work may be useful to their own.

Three themes

Questions running through the week

Evidence, Oversight and Coordination are themes across AI Safety Week, not separate tracks or days.

Evidence

What can we reliably learn about AI systems, their capabilities, behaviour and risks?

Oversight

How can AI systems be evaluated, monitored and governed, and who is responsible for acting on what we find?

Coordination

What can middle powers, institutions and sectors do together that they cannot do effectively alone?
